Donatos Introduces New Fresh Mozzarella Meatball Pizza

Donatos adds the bold, Italian-flavored pie to its customer-favored fresh mozzarella pizza line

Leading the fresh mozzarella trend, Donatos Pizza introduces its newest pizza, Fresh Mozzarella Meatball, to satisfy taste buds seeking the distinctive flavor of Donatos premium mozzarella with a bold, zesty flare. Bursting with flavor, the Fresh Mozzarella Meatball pizza features Donatos' premium fresh mozzarella, hearty family-recipe meatballs, crispy pepperoni, a robust blend of ricotta and garlic herb cheeses and rich red sauce Edge-to-Edge® atop its signature crust. The new pizza is Donatos' fifth fresh mozzarella pizza, as the Ohio-based company expands the consumer-favored line that features the creamy artisan cheese.

"Our fresh mozzarella pizzas have been a hit with customers since they were introduced last year, and were raising the bar again with the new Fresh Mozzarella Meatball pizza," said Donatos Director of Product Development Janet Sprouse. Donatos introduced its first fresh mozzarella pizzas, the Fresh Mozzarella Trio and Margherita, to customers in April 2007. Though the pizzas were launched as limited time menu items, they were quickly added to Donatos' permanent menu because of their instant popularity with customers. Donatos expanded its fresh mozzarella line in October 2007 with the Pepperoni Zinger and Chicken Spinach Mozzarella, and also added fresh mozzarella as a topping option. Donatos' proprietary mozzarella is made with real cows milk rather than low-moisture, part-skim milk as used by other companies, and is delivered fresh to preserve its soft, creamy texture and delicate flavor.
